FOR GODS SAKE FIX THE HACKING ISSUES
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

There has to be a better system out there for blocking these hackers. It is a couple days into Alpha and people are hacking with the same stupid annoying scripts as Arma 2. (Whole server just got teleported to one spot) This just goes to show how Arma 3 is just a reskin of Arma 2. Same bugs, same exploits, same sad story.

This is really upsetting. Back to Call of Duty....

That's right. Go back to Call of Duty. They're downvoting you for being a cunt.

Arma 3 is also currently in it's ALPHA stage, I hope you didn't forget that. With that in mind it is quite possable the game currently has copy protection i.e FADE, but not Anti-Cheat i.e Battle-Eye / VAC etc. Best bet is to wait and see what BI implements into Beta / Final, on the plus side if hacking is so rife at this stage it is possable BI will implement Anti-Cheat sooner rather than later.

The game is literally not even half done. Get over yourself.

I've seen some servers running there own anti hacking scripts so its not all doom and gloom but ive not seen hacking yet but then I play on smaller servers cos 25+ players and I get a huge fps drop so things like wasteland can be unplayable so Ive been playing other game modes also beware when people join with modified files don't mean they 100% hack/script but you should be on caution should have a system like on Counterstrike zblock (shit game I know) where they block any moded files that are not required for that game mode.

  1. Game is in Alpha stage
  2. Thus it doesn't have anti-cheat yet

Up, because it is disturbing in II and should not be forget in III.
You can destroy a whole gameplay with unwanted hacking activities.

ARMA has always been highly moddable and things are largely handled clientside which means it's easy to manipulate the game.

Vigilant admins and a good community (Spergy, casual, whatever suits you)are the only things that help against hackers as of now.

Pubs will be a hacking shitfest forever unless bis reworks the system which may or may not happen.

Please note that CD key thefts are now basically impossible thanks to Steam-exclusivity of Arma 3, so Battleye global bans that ban CD keys will actually stop the script kiddies in A3... The problem in A2 was the script kiddies could laugh to the global bans, because they could either generate or get new key for free in few minutes, which rendered the Battleye useless.

  1. A3 doesn't have Battleye - yet
  2. When Battleye is enabled it will be more powerful than ever
  3. Battleye global bans will be efficient in A3 unlike in A2 because script kiddies can't just get new key without paying for new game, thus also causing the fear factor to become remarkable factor that results in much less script kiddies.

The fact that the same hacks work practically out of the gate makes me lose all faith. Yes, this is alpha. Maybe there isn't BattleEye, but when did that stop anyone before?!?!? Why they can't stop client-side scripting in multiplayer games EVEN IN ALPHA is beyond me...

Anti-cheat is in the works. No need to report it.
