Please update the report with steps to reproduce according to HOW TO GUIDE in the top right corner.

Also if you played MP, please state what mission/mod were you playing when crash occured

I also got this one few times on random servers. I got it few times when driving an armored car

I know why! I was just dealing with this and resolved it. It's that AMD card. Go into the games settings > Video > Rendering; and disable "PPAA" . That option came already enabled on my game, but it is for nvidia cards and crashes our AMD's.

I got it on Nvidia 660 TI...

Hmm I don't know what to tell you then. All I know is that that option is causing this error message on AMD GPU's. I have no idea what would be causing it on an nvidia.

i would also provide a mdmp file but it well exceeds the maximum file size allowed on this tracker for upload

EDIT: seems it is easily compressible. added mdmp file

Same here: random crash because of application error (PhysX3_x86.dll).

Attached the arma 3 alpha folder with the rpt-s, dxdiag, and the windows application error log.

Click on "Lassú letöltés" button, which means regular speed downloading.

Currently experiencing a lot of physx crashes. Running 2 x HD5770. Are devs working with AMD?

Rpt and dxdiag attached.

Sorry submited incorrect file 'Arma3.rar'(Pls Delete). Please view 'Arma3AlphaLaggsy.rar.

I have the same problem as of today w/o having changed anything lately.

Crashes occur randomly and regardless of the map/mission/gamemode.

Here's my dxdiag, mdmp and rpt:

get this crash also occasionally, added rpt + dxdiag

Always the same problem -> beta 24.06.2013 we are many people to have it. If we put an another dll from another game who use physxdll, the problem would be solved ?

i got this one too, just tried invade & annex and crashed after 1 minute with this log: Firma problema:

More RPTS, latest version on dev branch, latest GEforce drivers 320.49, still sucks this hasn't been fixed

The annoying thing about this, is it wasn't present two main beta patches ago.

Something they changed must be triggering this crash.
If I were Bohemia I'd be looking at the 0.74 changelist.

The disabling PPAA suggestion that colinm478 mentioned above does absolutely nothing.
And nothing in there is even related to PhysX anyway.

Running two HD7950 here.

Another of my friends running the same cards is getting constant crashing too, and another friend with two HD5870. While another with two HD6850 hasn't had a single PhysX_x86.dll crash.

It's all very strange.

This is extremly weird. You can't be right, Ezkaton because I already had these PhysX3_x86.dll crashes in the Alpha.

Computing System: 16GB RAM DDR3, Nvidia GeForce 670 GTX, i7-3770K @ 3,5GHz (8 cores), Windows 7, Native Screen Resolution 1920 x 1080, Mainboard ASUS P8B75-M

It does not matter if you are flying a helicopter, driving around with an APC or another vehicle, running across the field as infantry - the hang seems to come randomly. However I have witnessed the game freezing in when running over soldiers with vehicles (for example the Hunter) but I cannot say exactly if that's the trigger which causes this problem. After 290hours of playing ArmA3 this is what I have noticed.

Still happening even with Altis. I was REALLY HOPING this would be gone by now.

Happened to me as well today, 29.08.13. I change my settings often without any problem, today I must have tweaked the wrong setting for this to happen to me 3 times, or it could the invade and annex mission that I was playing, it hasnt happened elsewhere.

My game crashed on invade&Annex today too.

This is on HD7850 GPU btw..

Here are a few more report packs (wont let me upload cos of my internet):

Hope these help you a bit. By the way I am not running Sli and I only have 1 card (although room for 2)

Data includes, raw events, dxdiag, and crash dumps.

Usually run 2x GTX690, however I have removed 1 GTX690 in an attempt to isolate the SLi interface. I cannot technically run a single card, as the GTX690 basically runs SLi on the printed circuit board.

Offload to CPU for PhysX does not appear to fix the issue.
Have added launch options as follows in attempt to resolve issue: -nobenchmark -noSplash -cpuCount=8 -high -maxMem=8192

Issues still exists in "final" release.

Same here.

Win 7, 64 bits.
i3 3220
GTX 660

It happens to me on CTI servers and mostly on CTI servers based on TeeTime mode. Asking myself whether there is a bug in the script or in any of the third party scripts it includes. I am crashing on all CTI servers based on it like EUTW, Tigres Blancs, GriZZly, ...

I am playing this mode most of the time coz it s the best mode to me out there, have playied other mods too without crashes.

If you google "Fault Module Name: PhysX3_x86.dll"
you will see there isn't only arma 3, but planetside 2 had the same problem with that file... Its probally bug in program that causes crashes.

New update for GeForce driver [19.09.2013 - today :P]

  • • Installs new PhysX System Software 9.13.0725.

Possible fix? Update and see [I suggest use just "nvidia Geforce Experience" for that.]

Upload my 2 mdmp/rpt for tonight game.

Crash reason : PhysX3_x86.dll
Mods : no mods (neither server or me)
Island : Altis
Mission : Ahoy Invade & Annex (modified by NGBC french team)

Latest event while alive : My last action in the game on the second crash was when my chopper wheel touch the ground at the main air base of that mission. I was on the third person view while looking the wheel animation touching the ground.

Side note : I noticed on the second crash that arma3 process was using around 2Go of RAM. I got 12Go of RAM in my PC, so it can't get higher if needed, i guess there is a default limit in the process itself. Don't know if that can helps understand the problem with PhysX3 dll

I am now downloading the Development branch, i'll report any dumps i got while trying this one as soon as i... crashed

Still happening after last is very very annoying. Randomly crashing after every 20-30 minutes.
On Nvidia 660 ti (2GB) with latest drivers
Win 7 x64

More crash dumps with version 1.02:

Did delete my .vars.profile on the advice of someone over at BIS forums, I didn't crash for about an hour, but still crashed afterwards.

ArmA 3 Version 1.02, makes my game crash all the time. Sometimes after 5 min. other times after 30 min.

Especially if I am zoomed in on a vehicle while it explodes, that makes a lot of players on the server crash to desktop instantly. But it still seems very random at times.

Crash Dump files uploaded.

Maybe try to add PsyhX3_x64.dll version for windows 7 x64?

PhysX3_x86.dll is causing massive server crashes multiple times a day! See logfiles and minidumps.

I have a rocket in on this, it's assigned to iceman

Still getting random physx3_x86.dll crashes as per 2014-12-01

FUpdate turned game into single huge useless CTD.
I cannot even start the game, i getting CTD immediatelly after trying to launch game.

For me its not random, it happens every single time i trying to start the game.
It happens even before loading screen so i see only black screen and this error.

This happens for me consistently on A3BRANCH 107410.

  1. On Windows 8.1 OS, run Arma 3 Server:

== C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Arma 3 Server\arma3server.exe
== arma3server.exe "" "-mod=@Epoch;@EpochHive;" -profiles=C:\Arma3_Server\@Arma3Epoch2 -port=2542 -config=C:\Arma3_Server\@Arma3Epoch2\config.cfg -nosplash -skipintro -world=empty

  1. Player joins to game
  2. Player plays for a while (indeterminate amount of time)
  3. Player disconnects
  4. After 4 hours of server up-time, the server process is ended as a part of the regular recycle process, via this command:

C:\Windows\System32\taskkill /im arma3server.exe

Result: Windows 8 pop-up: Game crash / application exception.
