problems spawning on Agia Marina dock
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In editor, a player cannot be spawned on the dock, they instead spawn underneath it, entombed in the dock itself. When spawning helicopters they appear to skip in the air of glitch away destroying the vehicle or severely injuring the occupants. this also happens with land vehicles at certain random points.

the affected area can be seen in the screenshot. The thicker border quite accurately delineates the problem area from the bug free area

What's really weird about this one, is earlier I had no trouble spawning in on it. Then when I opened my mission in the editor again and tried spawning (didn't move anything) this started happening, and for the life of me, I can't seem to get it to work again ever since.

i broke it? no wonder i'm finding all these problems...

Lol
Maybe it's just random. Even with new missions I can't seem to get it to work correctly anymore. Perhaps when it did work for me, it was dumb luck.

On the same note, the same thing happens if you try to spawn a unit on a rock. They spawn inside it instead of on it.

It seems to have the same problem attempting to spawn units on top of things too. Like spawning a unit on top of the big fuel tanks on the Airfield will make them spawn inside of it, instead of on top of it.

This is why whe need the wysiwyg editor, so we can place entities on different floors of buildings.

Elevation. Put it @ 1 for first floor of normal buildings. I believe 3 works for second floors. I'd test 3 first and see if not, use a higher number. It's based on the seafloor for 0 since the docks aren't part of the land and are a separate piece like buildings.
