The latest update to Experimental Dayz changed that in order to get rid of an item from your hands and leave it on the ground, the player must drag the item to the "Vincity" window (1/3 of the screen), and even worse, if the window is full of items or containers, the player must drag the item to the small rectangle at the top left of the screen.
Previously, you could drag the item anywhere on the left side.
There is still the option to hold G or press Left CTRL + LMB on an item in your hands, but players are more accustomed to dragging an item (e.g. streamers), especially in combat where simultaneous movement with WASD is required.
