Description

Game freezes after selecting server and around the splash screen that says loading in ... seconds.

I've reinstalled the game and mods along with rebooting the computer.

Steps To Reproduce

Select sever from the Dayz or DZSA Launcher.
Game loads until around splash screen that says loading in ... seconds.
Screen freezes with a black screen.
Task Manager shows "not responding" and no change in the memory amount.

Hello Tedz62.
Can you please try the following?:

Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (make sure Steam cloud sync is disabled for DayZ before doing this) - you can also delete the config files manually by clearing the C:\Users\*username*\Documents\DayZ folder

Open the DayZ launcher
Select PARAMETERS menu
Select ALL PARAMETERS tab
scroll down and check "Bulldozer" parameter
Launch the game
Once launched, close the game
Uncheck bulldozer
Launch the game again without any parameters

Also please make sure enough memory is allocated and you have all drivers up to date and no corrupted files or installation (running sfc/scannow can detect if so)

I got the game running.

I found a couple of things different on my PC
1 - Verifying game didn't ask to delete anything. Uninstall ask to delete files.
2 - The only Dayz folder my C drive is at C:\Users\"username"\AppData\Local\DayZ.

Steps that I took to get the game to run.

Did the scan with no problems.
Updated drivers.
Turned off the game sync.
Uninstalled game, check delete files when asked (left third box unchecked - router settings)
Reinstalled game.
Started the game as you described with Bulldozer and then without.
Game still froze.

Went into the NVIDIA app.
Graphics tab: Changes the slider all the way left to Performance from all the way right - Quality.
Settings tab: Turned off the NVIDIA overlay. < Maybe the real problem, they changes things recently and the overlay looks different?

Started the game and it worked.

I'm going to set the slider to the middle between Performance and Quality next time I run the game to see if that works.
