If you light up a torch and drop it in the vicinity, then without moving drop your clothes as well, they will dry extremely fast, due to them being as close as possible to the heat source. I assume there should be some kind of cap on the max heat in the center of the heat source, or alternatively items dropped when standing on a torch should automatically be placed a certain minimum distance away from that heat source.
