There was a character wipe for PC and a server and character wipe for console and it was announced a long time ago that this will happen with the patch that was released today.

That announcement is old ... then it was "withdrawn" for problems with the update (I don't have the link, but you should know it well) ... and in the end ... the definitive cancellation of the characters was announced only on Monday August 19th at 11; 28 on Twitter and at 12:12 on the forum.
1:30 hours (Twitter) and 48 minutes (Forum) before cancellation?
