Mods not installing/updating in launcher/steam
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I had Arma 3 installed in a drive that died, so I had to reinstall in a different one. I had way too many mods to fit in the new drive so after installing the game I cancelled all subscriptions and tried to reinstall just a few to get going, but none of them installed whatsoever. I've tried almost everything I've seen online (I'm not going to take drastic measures when it was working fine before) and I can't make the mods download. It says "not installed," and hovering over it shows the message:

"Not installed

Unexpected exception occured while checking content of the mod
Please report the following error on the Arma 3 Feedback Tracker: {0}"

I really don't know what to do because I don't know if my situation stems from the drive that failed or if that's just a coincidence. I can enjoy the game without mods but come on

Steps To Reproduce

I had the game installed in a hard drive
The hard drive died
I reinstalled the game in a different, working drive
Cancelled all subscriptions so it didn't try to download all of it (70+GB just the mods)
Now I'm unable to install any mods, no matter how big or small

Additional Information

I simply don't know what else to do, even the error itself seems bugged (unless error {0} is a thing IDK). Verifying files doesn't work. I have almost 100GB of free space and I can't even download a 12KB mod; it isn't about space. I've tried fixes I've seen online for similar situations but every single one of them had some detail that doesn't match mine, and none of them worked so far.

Steam should be downloading the mods. Look for errors inside your steam client

It simply isn't. The only error is shown in the arma launcher, or I just don't know where to look for errors in steam. I just unsubscribed and subscribed again to 3den enhanced and not only is everything the same (it appears as not installed)

But now the mods that did appear (I do have a couple from armaholic times) do so twice, including 3den enhanced. I simply don't know what to say lol

Edit: Forgot to add that the download in steam shows as if it was working fine, it starts and completes as it should. But in the launcher it remains the same.

Well, Hi. I'm very, very stupid. Everything was down to not having the correct mod folder set up. I swear that's one of the first things I tried but oh well, now it works apparently so yeah, laugh at me if you will; I'll be recovering lost time

Anyway if someone knows how to "lock", change this to "solved" or whatever let me know (or do it if you're a mod idk) and I'll eventually remember to check back and do it if it happens
