My $0.02 on the medic profession:
The new 1.0 update introduced some good additions, such as the medic bag enabling medics to fully heal if near an ambulance or field hospital, and loading people into ambulances. These additions give a lot of depth to the profession, but is unfortunately undermined by a few things:
- People wake up from unconscious by themselves.
- People fully heal/recover over time by themselves.
- Drag/carry is a huge gap that is missing.
This directs people to behave a certain way, such as not bothering to heal team mates because they will either wake up by themselves to heal on their own, or they don't want to also get shot because they can't drag bodies to a safe location to medic them.
IMO, big changes can be made here by tweaking the following:
- If keeping the ability to wake up by yourself, create a minimum uncon time to make medicing desirable - otherwise require morphine to wake up at all.
- Bandage, tourniquet, saline remains unchanged. Only difference is that injury debuffs are permanent unless healed by a medic at an ambulance/field hospital.
- Injury debuffs should be more noticeable.
- Dragging/carrying should 100% be a thing.
- I also think the interaction points are really difficult to find. I see a bleeding leg I want to bandage, but I cant find the prompt to bandage unless I'm in exactly the right spot. Perhaps some UI features could be changed here too.
Just my thoughts.
