Unconscious player collision box issue

PC Version 1.21.156201

When a player falls unconscious they seem to have a bigger collision box than the body itself. This makes it impossible to walk or jump over the body when it should be able to.

This can get very annoying when being in combat inside a building. Imagine clearing a building and your teammate is shot unconscious inside a doorframe. The body will block other players from entering the room to eliminate the threat and save the unconscious one. I've had this happen many times when fighting indoors.

There is an existing ticket on this issue (https://feedback.bistudio.com/T150238) saying this has been scheduled for a fix. This was three years ago though so I made this ticket in case it was forgotten, sorry for the redundancy.

  1. Have someone fall unconscious
  2. Try and walk/jump over them
Additional Information

The older ticket has some additional information on how the collision box depends on the player stance before falling unconscious. Like going from prone to unconscious will not cause issues.

According to the programers this is as designed.

That's weird, I feel like you should be able to walk over unconscious people just like you can walk/step over people who are in prone position. It wouldn't be difficult in real life too.
