A weird stuttering video problem, problem identified
New, NormalPublic

Description

Follow-up of my previous experience with Arma 3's video graphics stuttering.

I experienced it yesterday again, but this time, I was able to know what had changed since the last 48 hours.
It may be related to my local network situation, as I am relying on 4G router, hence my netspeed is not at the top.

Anyway, problem has been determined to be caused by subscribed COMPOSITIONS. Once the game is launched, ARMA is checking for every compositions subscribed in the background, causing latency with the video rendering.

My library was rich of 140 subscriptions in that field on the Workshop.
Sharing numbers about subscriptions:
Grand total of subscriptions Arma Workshop: 1250 (4 scenarios, 140 compositions, 1106 MODs) I suspected the number of scenarios first and reduced it before realizing it is due to compositions.
I purged them all but 3 and the stuttering was gone.

Today, I subscribed again to 140 compositions and immediately noted stuttering was present.

I have narrowed it down to 7 compositions at maximum to sustain a stable video frame rate. (17 was too much, have not step is down until 7. Maybe 10-15 is okay).

Hope it helps.

Subscribing more than 7 (10?) compositions on the workshop is causing a drain on video rendering.
