Running Arma 3 via steam. Game had been running without any issues, now will not start from the launcher. Game freezes up and is listed as not responding in the windows task bar, and must be shut down via end task. The problem had never happened before, and now happens 100% of the time. We have not been able to run Arma 3 since this issue first happened.

Something is wrong with your graphics drivers or graphics card.
Try updating your graphics drivers.
Hi thanks for your advice!
I have updated graphics drivers, windows to latest version. Performed full uninstall/reinstall of arma including registry clean. Updated direct x drivers. Card is a new Gigabyte rx 7900 xt oc, running standard settings, on a new i7 professional build. We had arma running effortlessly for about a week, then purchased Prarie fire and tinkered for a bit then the issues set in.
All other software we use with high gpu load are seamless, with no issues, including DCS, Uboat etc. I am a newbie in many regards, how do I go about establishing if its my gpu?
Any help much appreciated. I am sorely missing arma its the best hands down when it works and Im at a loss

DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED: The graphics device has been physically removed, turned off, or a driver upgrade has occurred. This happens occasionally and is normal; your app or game should recreate device resources as described in this topic.

Testing Device Removed Handling
Visual Studio's Developer Command Prompt supports a command line tool 'dxcap' for Direct3D event capture and playback related to the Visual Studio Graphics Diagnostics. You can use the command line option "-forcetdr" while your app is running which will force a GPU Timeout Detection and Recovery event, thereby triggering DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED and allowing you to test your error handling code.Note DXCap and its support DLLs are installed into system32/syswow64 as part of the Graphics Tools for Windows 10 which are no longer distributed via the Windows SDK. Instead they are provided via the Graphics Tools Feature on Demand that is an optional OS component and must be installed in order to enable and use the Graphics Tools on Windows 10. More information on how to Install the Graphics Tools for Windows 10 can be found here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/mt125501.aspx#InstallGraphicsTools
Also, ARMA 3 on the rx9800xtx will fail with that error immediately going into the game (clicking play contact, zero mods) *if* the amd driver game settings are set to anything other than "standard".
