DayZ 1.20 Check pulse animation change
Reviewed, NormalPublic

With the 1.20 change of check pulse to a continous action, there is no way to trigger the "poke" animation previously used by the action. Lots of players have been using the poke as a fun interaction thing, and this is no longer possible due to the change.

My proposal is simple - put the old animation on the emote wheel as a "Poke" with no gameplay action involved. (And have it possible to keybind...)

Example of how the action was used:

N/A - check pulse just has a different animation due to being continuous.

My suggestion on subject would be tap for poke no info given just a poke, hold for check pulse.

Emote wheel while a good idea, imo would take away from the fluidness of old way and leave player vulnerable opening emote wheel not to mention having to sometimes move forward as trying action as person being poked not always standing still idle.

Hello everyone.
The check pulse feature was never intended to be used as a "poke" emote and the devs would like to keep the current change. The devs suggest binding emotes instead but they are considering bringing poke as an emote, though no promises on that at the moment.

Thanks for reply Geez, the new hold to check pulse and crouch animation is fine everyone agrees on that. What we are suggesting is to also have poke and in my opinion simply tap the same key instead of hold is best option because if a emote wheel emote will never be the same as was, not as fluid and even if can keybind it that won't help console players as can't remap controls, poking players is a classic pass time of DayZ and arguably the most interactive action in game so sad to see this go. :(
