1.19.155361 - The good old Fireplace Vehicle Blockade is back, or perhaps it was never solved?
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Please remove collision for vehicles with fireplaces. People used them to block roads on the high vehicle spawn testing server. I believe there were also stones attached.

On this note, also please remove the ability to dig and plant tree trunks into asphalt roads. I love the addition of the random police events meaning a driver has to keep his eyes on the road and look for potential obstacles. I'm sure I don't have to explain why the fireplace collision needs to be removed, but as for the tree trunks, especially because they build no fence on them they can be devastating, especially on the mainroad along the coast, where people like to go fast and seeing the trunks is too late.

Dig and plant tree trunks??

@Nate_LapT Yeah, you what I mean, if you build a fence you gotta start with two big logs which you dig a whole for, but people do that on asphalt roads to creat solid road blocks that are super hard to see.

Ohhhhh Log posts.
Gotcha.
I'd be ok with that if it required a pickaxe to create only...

I hate how street signs will destroy a car, You'd never get more than a scratch if you hit one IRL
Especially with a metal bumper.

I'm not sure if these can be ran over like the reflector poles on the side of the road, but I feared for my TRUCK which would destroy them IRL and not take a splinter...
I'll test tomorrow... but they should cause no harm to a car.

I'd love if the engine ever got destructive objects. These would be great to smash.

Good point with the pickaxe but I still think it shouldn't be possible for gameplay sake. If you wanna build a barrier for whatever reason, get yourself a couple cars and make a roadblock to wait for I don't know how long until someone actually comes by.

That's my point though, noones sitting on these log post roadblocks. They are just a way of griefing with no benefit to the one creating them. Thus I would strongly suggest to remove the ability for gameplays sake.

And a big +1 on destructive objects or at least physics on smaller items like you mentioned. Given however that cars still lag around even now with the new system, albeit less extreme, I doubt server performance will be able to handle it.

@Geez Hi Geez, thank you for reviewing my ticket. Am I correct in assuming that the status "reviewed" means, that there are currently no plans to change the way cars interact with magical fireplaces? I assume so, as I believe it would otherwise have been changed to "assigned".

Best regards

Hello freerider3434.
The feedback from you has been forwarded to devs and considered, so in such case reviewed means that we have read the ticket and acknowledge it, though I currently have no info as to if there are going to be any changes. This is due to the fact that collission removal from fireplaces is not a simple process and it would possibly break other things and therefore has to be carefuly considered.

Geez

@Geez Thank you very much for the clarification!

Besst regards

@Geez Fixed in 1.20 Great Job!
