PC 1.19 Experimental - Character Inertia remains active even while jogging, until you let go of movement keys
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

As far as I understand, the inertia is meant to only be active when the character is sprinting, to reduce zigzagging in firefights etc, however after you begin a sprint and enable the inertia, it will continue to affect the character even after the sprint ends and you have returned to jogging.

The inertia will only deactivate for jogging if you let go of all movement keys and begin a new input.

This makes movement feel clunkier than it should, for example when trying to casually jog through a doorway, turning the corner can feel bad because the inertia is active when it shouldn't be.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Start sprinting and alternate between A/D keys, notice inertia active
  2. Let go of shift (or empty stamina) to return to a jog (still holding W) Now that you are jogging, continue alternating A/D inputs again - notice how inertia is still active even though you aren't sprinting
  3. Let go of all movement keys and completely stop
  4. Hold W to jog again - inertia will be disabled and character jogs as normal

Edit: In addition to letting go of all movement keys, the inertia can also be disabled by quickly flicking the mouse to the side, causing the character to do the 'turning around' animation.
