Description

M249 SAW is as of 0.9.5.66 incapable of using STANAG -magazines in place of belt feeding system.
The SAW does have a dual-feed system in place and it's correctly modeled in-game, but the weapon does not accept STANAG magazines.

Here is the mag-port on the left side of the weapon

Manual reload by dragging a mag over the gun does not work, nor pressing "R" to initiate reload.

Attempt to reload by tapping "R"
Attempt to reload by dragging magazine over the weapon icon in inventory-view

Should be planned, it’s a real missed opportunity for realistic combat, I’ve ran out of box mags several times and it would be faster to place a mag in quick when needed. If you’re gonna have the firearm in the game it should be utilized correctly, sad to hear it’s not planned. Slightly ridiculous aswell.

No mods appear to have this a reality yet either, crazy to see. Yet there are mods for rails to allow
Scopes? Missed opportunity and big misstep here.
