Getting kicked all of a sudden for "High Ping" and "Unstable Connection" on official servers that haven't given me issues for hundreds of hours of play
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

So I mainly play on official servers as they provide the flavor of gameplay I enjoy out of DayZ. I enjoy vanilla, high population, and chaos - and official servers give me exactly that.

I have 160 hours of play time right now and that number would be going up if it weren't for the recent constant disconnects I've been dealing with. It makes the game completely unplayable and it seems completely unjustifiable from my findings. I am connecting to servers on my coast of the US, and they are some of the lowest ping servers listed on DayZ for me.

I have been pinging the server ip for hours on command prompt and the latency never surpasses 120ms and for the overwhelming majority of the time (>99%) my ping is less than 60ms. I see no spiking on my command prompt pings when the disconnects happen, so I don't see a correlation between my connection and these disconnects. I have noticed that the disconnects occur more frequently when servers are highly/fully populated.

I have tried other east coast official servers, updating my drivers(GPU, CPU, Network Adapters), turning off power saving, reinstalling the game, updating my router firmware, clearing router cache, resetting my modem, resetting my routers, not leaving the launcher open while the game is open... I've tried so many things.

I have NEVER had issues with any other game, and I play a lot of latency sensitive games like Battle Royals, MOBAs, and other shooters.

As you may be able to tell, I really want this resolved so I can actually play the game... any advice or further information would be great.

Thank you.
Can you please try to ping the server with -n XXX where XXX is number of repeats - let it run for some time and log and then send us the result?
Example:

Regards,
Geez

We are 3 to 5 that play alot on official and just 2 nights ago 2 of us got kicked at the same time.
This has happened often and it is just random.
Even happens on many community server's and with some of them having ping limits we get kicked more often.

This has definitely happened more often the past 2-3 patches now. Will start noting down the time and dates for you guy's to track on 1.18.

Here are the results @Geez

Ping statistics for 31.214.136.147:

Packets: Sent = 2560, Received = 2550, Lost = 10 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:

Minimum = 46ms, Maximum = 138ms, Average = 46ms

"very fast" 😂 Nice upload but that DL is slow.

Few things, there aren't others sharing this connection?
No other apps downloading/updating. Phone running an update.
Others watching Netflix or any other streaming service?

ISPs can fluctuate during peek hours.

Devs: What is the grace period for a ping timeout? 5 seconds, 10, 20?

Also, are you trying to stream?

This is happening all of the time to us.

Also often few seconds after we have been killed and respawn we sometimes get kicked out.

I'm guessing there is a spike of data being sent to/from the server to sync the loot and the respawn, causing a lag spike.

Whatever check they have set, is too low causing the kick.

Just a dumb theory.. maybe the server hasn't fully desynced your life from the now dead body and it's spawning you in too quick causing the server to lose track of your player being it's after a respawn.
Otherwise most of my comment is dumb guesses as I'm not a game programmer...

I believe Battleye made changes a few patches ago that has caused the ping kick to be *way* too sensitive. Even a momentary blip in connectivity or a small flood of data going from the server to the client can cause players to get dropped. On servers with large queues, it's not currently usable. This results in having *no* max ping setting which opens the server up for laggy players causing issues for everyone.
