Hello Cxnnor.
Do you still experience the issue? This error code refers to connection to the server failing due to some reason - https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/DayZ:Error_Codes

My friend is also getting this on Xbox DayZ EU - DE 3852, he can join others, but not this one. But then sometimes it lets him join?

I know what the error code is, it’s “failed connecting”, I just don’t know how to fix the problem

I've been having this same issue for 7 months now, I've payed for a game I cannot play at all, It just suddenly appeared out of no where, and its not my Internets fault since I can play every single other game without a problem, but for dayz it's just an issue?, I don't get it I've done everything, reinstalled, reset my router, factory reset my xbox, changed my I.P, jumped onto my mobile hot-spot only for it to corrupt, switched accounts, I play on a series X if that helps any bit, but I've been experiencing this for far long

I would have to agree that this issue is not fixed as I'm still trying to get into experimental and have this failed connection error also and the 1 time I have managed to get into a server I had no melee or shooting abilities with my MnK.

I've got the same issues it worked fine until I changed ISP and now it's not working, what I don't understand is that there is no issue when playing other games online. I still play dayz through a glitch I use to join a server were I turn my console offline then online again and during that time frame when it's reconnecting it will let me connect to a server, I don't like doing it because it's a pain and I should be able to join normally. I've done everything possible, reset IP address, reset xbox and restarted my router and none of its worked. Changing ISP isn't an option either. Please and thank you for your support.

Dear support service,

It appears that this ongoing bug has been causing frustration up to this point. Over the past seven months, I've been grappling with this persistent issue. Despite purchasing the game, I've found myself completely unable to play it. The problem seemed to manifest out of nowhere, without any warning signs. It's worth noting that my internet connection is not to blame, as I can play all other games without any trouble. However, DayZ presents a unique challenge. I've exhausted every possible solution: reinstalling the game, resetting my router, reinstalling Steam, changing my IP address, and even resorting to my mobile hotspot, only to encounter further complications. Additionally, I've attempted to resolve the issue by switching accounts, but to no avail.

I ran into this issue and wanted to share my experience finally resolving it yesterday.

It may be important to note that I run on the game (normally, quite well) under Linux. The other day, I started messing with things - I wanted to try running the steam server. As part of that process, I managed to bork my normal Steam UI and games library somehow. The thing I ended up having to do there was re-add some library locations to Steam.

Long story, short, after this, I was getting this issue, and as is obvious to many of us: this has nothing whatever to do with actual connectivity/internet settings.

At some point, I did notice some people mentioning that they had solved their issue by joining an official server. This did not work for me, however it did provide a clue: this seems to have to do with an initialization/validation phase failing in the connect.

Ultimately, I found that specifically using the launcher fixed the issue for me. I had been using the launch arguments "-nosplash -skipintro -noLogs -nolauncher", which people often use under Linux to improve their experience/compatibility. I finally thought to remove those. Upon doing this, the launcher subsequently complained about having corrupt settings and having to restore them - sorry, really wish I saved the specific error there! In any case, whatever the launcher "repaired" fixed the issue for me. I was able to join an official server, and from that point I was able to stop using the launcher again. To me, it seems quite likely some initialization or validation problem is more to blame, that anyone's internet connection...at least in many situations.

Note that even a full removing all Steam workshop content and removing the game from my library then reinstalling it did NOT fix this for me, nor did validating files, and so on. The only thing that finally got me there was to use the launcher and let it do whatever it had determined was needed to get it working again. I know there are a couple file system locations that may be impacted here - e.g. AppData or other places. If I ran into this again, I'd try wiping those locations myself to try to see which caused the problem.

Hope this helps at least one person out there - this was definitely frustrating, and I have really enjoyed DayZ - I'd have been pretty sad to not be able to play.

IMHO, the connection initialization code seems to need a bit of TLC to better identify the underlying cause of the apparently varied problems that can cause a connection failure.

Sorry - hadn't seen the other issue when I put this here. If you have verified your internet connection is not the issue, the best place to track this is over at https://feedback.bistudio.com/T175914 (for PC) or https://feedback.bistudio.com/T175909 (for XBox) . While those issues are related to experimental, there are recommendations you may wish to use for the released launcher as well - also some people have listed more of the related directories I alluded to in my previous post.
