Headset (COWIN E7 Hands-Free AG Audio)
Thats a USB Headset right? There is a known issue with USB Headsets on Windows 10.
Try disconnecting the USB headset and see if that fixes it.
Thanks for the suggestion, however it is a Blu tooth headphone not USB. any other suggestions?
Now that you mention the headset, could other audio issues cause these CTDs?
Sometimes I can hear TeamSpeak only, other times TS and ambient sounds. TS, ambient, and other human player gunshots but not mine nor AI fire. Ideas?
I just set my entire Steam folder to "Full Control" then loaded the mods and ran the game. This time, I selected my slot, clicked continue, it took me to the same splash screen as before, except this time it crashed when I move my mouse before I could click on the "Join the Fight!" button.
I turned off read-only from my Arma 3 folder and crashed as the mission file was downloading.
Man something really is seriously wrong.
What looks like memory corruption crashes all over the place.
I'll look closer into some of these, but most look like just random memory garbage crashes.
Okey, for your 08-01_19-15-26 crash. That was in our audio system.
Again pointing to audio like was my first guess.
Does your audio device have a mono-output only mode maybe?
Or some fancy virtual 5.1 magic? or is it a plain normal stereo output?
Thanks for the suggestion, however it is a Blu tooth headphone not USB. any other suggestions?
Did you actually test if the crashes stop WITHOUT it?
Please switch to perf/prof branch, these are newer binaries and will make crash analysis a bit easier.
Also it would be great if I could get a full dump, but these are very huge (compress well with 7z though) and will need to be uploaded somewhere else (for example google drive)
If you load this mod: https://github.com/dedmen/ArmaFullDump/releases/tag/1.1 Arma will create full crashdumps several GB in size that contains all the information.
The normal crashdumps are just minidumps that omit alot of useful information
Most of your crashes actually have the same symptoms, something is overwriting memory.
I would love to fix this, I have seen dozens of crash reports with this exact stuff and I have absolutely no clue why or how it happens. I'd love to finally fix this mess.
Hi Dedman,
Thanks for taking a look at all of these errors, I appreciate your time and expertise.
I did try my monitors speakers and different headphones, but still crashed.
I uninstalled all of Arma 3 and its mods, deleted the folders. Then I reinstalled Arma and all of the mods to my other drive (E:\ to C:\). I have been running the 32bit instead of the 64bit version thus far I have not have any crashing issues. I still have audio issues, but I've been sick all week and haven't felt well enough to play or test. Once I get another chance to play, I'll let you know if I have any more issues.
BTW, You mentioned I should try the perf/prof branch. I don't know what that is.
Thanks,
Jess
Heya we have a wiki page on out different branches and how to access them,
https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3:_Steam_Branches
Hope this helps
There is a potential audio crash fix coming up on profiling branch end this week.
That might help you
