hello Xacute, you're right that's a major bug, just wondering if you could describe the ground and the structures your base was made of, it was on flat ground? was the flag built near a wall or a tree? what about tents, barrels or cars inside? did they dissapeared as well? How long time your base last?

My flag is outside of the building, no tree near by it other than my fencing. My fence is far enough away from the flag where i can walk in between it. My tent and crates did not despawn. I had backpack that was sitting on the ground and some tools laying around inside the building. Luckily I crated most of my items. I thought the purpose of having a flag up is to prevent any of your items from despawning as long as the flag is raised high and it is within 60m. unless my intel are wrong? Or maybe that rule doesnt apply for this server? idk maybe you could tell me. It is a new base so i dont really have much in it but the very few things i have in it i can't afford to keep losing if it continues.

Does the flag only preserve items for 5 days? what if i have wooden crates or barrel or a vehicle? how long do I have until they despawn with or without the flag? Does that 5 day add on to any burried items in the ground or does that cancel the 14 days expiration of item burried underground? As far as i know it is 14 days for items that's burried underground, is it not? And does 5 days add on to that 14 days, if i have a flag nearby?

OK I think the purpose of the flag was to avoid base walls and towers from despawning, I don't think it works with all the items in the ground and if it was not in an official server it may be a problem with a mod or items lifetime configuration on that specific server. But according to what Geez said you may have to interact with the items in order to avoid them from disappearing. But if your base walls disappeared then I'm pretty sure it's a bug.

Hello Xacute.
The point of the flag is to preserve items such as tents,barrels and basebuilding objects such as fences,towers etc..
If you build a fence wall, it has for example 45 days lifetime timer, if no one interacts with the fence it gets deleted within 45 days. The flag prevents this from happening as it refreshes the items/objects affected every five days and resets the lifetime so they do not get deleted.
However, if the item has a shorter lifetime than those 5 days that flag refreshes, then it will still get cleaned up when not interacted with - this concerns most of the items and also backpacks.
You can also easily check which items and objects are affected by the flag as there is an icon that appears there to let you know they are affected by the flag and will not despawn.

In short, the tents,barrels and basebuilding walls/towers should not disappear in vicinity of the flag, while items such as backpacks will still get cleaned up if not interacted with by design.
