1.10 Experimental Feedback on Fractures (8287 hours playtime)
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

Ok my thoughts on fractures as they are now. Imo fractures should start healing straight away, without any status requirements like health, food etc. I also think it's a wasted oppurtunity not to force the player through the stages of limping as your leg heals. (the animations are already there) Not only in the current approach do you have no idea how the healing of your leg is progressing, but it also makes you feel less engaged with the fracture as your character is not actually improving.

When leg breaks = flashing red walking speed and increases through the stages when it heals. You can balance this with painkillers allowing yellow health walking speed for the duration of the painkillers being active. Sprinting still blocked or maybe at a cost of 5x stamina drain and shock build-up.

I would also from broken to fully healed take 30 minutes with splint. Now I would also have it so while morphine is applied, for 5 minutes it doubles the regen rate. This would also stack with the splint applied. So if you have 3 morphines potentially you could regen in 15 minutes, BUT I would make morphine quite rare on the server. Right now on EXP my character has a broken leg for 45+ minutes and I have no clue wether I started the healing or not. Maybe a non-improvised splint for slightly faster regen rate which can be found in hospitals would be cool too.

It's great to have fractures back in the game but current implementation is more tedious and annoying than actually adding to gameplay. It would be such a waste to add them now and not do it properly.

Yep, fractures should provide new information on the stamina indicator!

Is there a loud "crack" sound (played as audio ingame feedback) planned?
