how do i fix this "0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION ON PC
- Operating System
- Windows 10
Please try the following:
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\*YourID*\
In there, you have the following folders
221100 for stable client
1024020 for experimental
Delete the whole 221100 folder.
Verify the game data through Steam and delete the configuration files when prompted to do so (Make sure Steam Cloud Sync is disabled prior to doing this)
After doing this, make sure you launch the game through Steam and connect through the in game browser as third party launchers as DZSA can still cause problems.
Are you certain that you have removed the configuration files? When verifying through Steam, a small pop up window appears that has multiple checkboxes for deleting settings/options etc, you have to check all of these. Alternatively you will have to delete the whole contents of your DayZ folder located in your Documents.
Getting the same error after deleting 221100 directory and then verifying local steam files (and ticking all the boxes for the dayz pop up).
Tested to see if it was a mod specific issue but it still happens when all mods are unloaded and joining the official DayZ EU - DE 1297 server.
Loading progress bar gets to 90% ish and then the exception is raised.
Weirdly the game launches fine on a lightly modded server with the following mods loaded (currently experiencing DDoS attacks so server uptime is a bit iffy):
- CF (Community-Framework)
First report (modded server -- any of the DayOne community servers):
Second report (official, unmodded server - DE 1297):
Edit: I can try some standard tricks tomorrow and report back -- rebooting, reinstalling vanilla, reinstalling mods etc. but heading to sleep now.
Were you connecting through Steam upon doing all these steps? As I have mentioned, third party launchers could still produce the issue.
If you used the standard server browser, then can you try booting the game with -nocharmenu parameter?
Right click on DayZ in your steam library > Click on properties > In the resulting popup window go to the "LOCAL FILES" tab > click on "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES" > Windows will ask you to give Steam authorisation to make changes to data, click Okay > When the DayZ pop up appears, tick all the boxes and click OK > Wait for steam to finish performing checks..
Yes I'm running from the Steam DayZ launcher.
Tried -nocharmenu to steam args and fixes the STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION exception and can connect to official servers. Had to do some jiggery pokery for the modded servers but all seemed to work out.
Is this a bug in the loading screen? Noticed the official servers didn't fade the images in as before?
