Arma III crashing consistently as soon as I hit the play button
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

The title really says it all, around two weeks ago I had been trying to start up Arma like any other day and I get this error message:
0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION I've looked up several fixes online none of which have worked so far

For me its as simple as pressing the play button, the loading screen doesn't even show up, a minute or so passes and it gives me the error code mentioned above

Additional Information

This is not the first time I had this particular error code show up, before it was a relatively simple fix in the set launch options tab in properties on Steam lately that fix has refused to work and frankly I'm at a loss. Any help you guys could provide would be very welcome. I will also be uploading the error report alongside this post if it'll be of any help. PS, sorry if I screwed up the form a bit I'm new to Feedback Tracker, thanks for your time.

Hello, try to go through these and let me know whether any of them have helped.

I have tried pretty much all of them so far, no dice. I'd also like to point out I'm not getting this sort of problem with any other game, not sure if that helps narrow down the problems

I have tried all of the above several times over the course of the last month to no avail, do you guys have any other advice you could offer?

If you have a USB headset, unplug it or unistall its drivers and see if it solves your problem. Report here.

I'm afraid I don't have a USB headset

Hey, I'm glad to say that I've found a fix for my problem. I'll run you guys trough in case anyone has a similar problem in the future. Simply open the launcher, hit options from there go to launcher options and under compatibility tick the box that says "Use an old system dialog for the folder selection" and that was about it thanks for helping me out.
