Actually, the limit of vertex normals for p3d is 32k. In Arma 3 with the move from DirectX9 to DirectX11 the limit has been increased to 2^16 vertex normals.
This would be awesome if the limit inside DayZ can be increased to Arma 3 one.
The only workaround to bypass this limit is to create proxy, but for sure proxy has not been designed to this type of utilization. and can create some performances problems.
