Lights vanish when zooming or using scope
Need More Info, NormalPublic

On the new experimental patch (31/03/19 - 1.02.150980) , lights are visible in normal view however disappear when looked at while zoomed in or using a scope (hunting scope, PU scope, PSO scope). This occured multiple times across the map with different scopes from two different client perspectives. Ruins any night combat when lights are being used.

Operating System

Hello Jad and thank you for the report.
We have tested the issue but we were unable to produce it. Was the occurrence of the issue tied to specific light sources? How many lightsources were in the place when the issue has occurred? And could you possibly try to send us a video of the issue?

Thanks for the reply.
The light source we encountered this issue with was the road flare. We only saw one light source at the time and were trying to scope it out and gather more information but we ran into this problem. I would say we were ~200 metres from the flare. I didn't manage to get a video at the time unfortunately, but, if I encounter this again I will try and record it.

I've seen this bug, too. In my case, a player roughly 300m in the distance was travelling at night with a lit flashlight equipped. Their light was visible to me in unzoomed eye view but disappeared when I looked for it through a PU scope. The light became visible through my scope when they came closer to me. It appears like the sensitivity for seeing player light sources is reduced when looking through a scope.

Yep, With the flare, the light completely disappeared leaving only the particles. It seems the issue (or even feature) with flashlights/head torches is that the light is very bright in plain view but goes very dim when zoomed in. We experienced this issue with a head torch last night. It's a struggle to see here, but it's obvious there is a change in the light when zooming in:

I can upload some footage showing the problem, if you're still having trouble reproducing this issue. The recording is with a flashlight at ~300m distance, zooming in with naked eye zoom, binoculars and an ACOG scope all causing the light source to apparently vanish (returning once vision returns to naked eye, unzoomed).

Just give me the word, Geez, and I'll process/upload it.

EDIT: Just wanted to point out that this is still an issue on the 1.02 stable patch, my footage is from last night (15/04, stable server)

If it is not a problem, please do so.
