Unable to change weapons when in combat effectively.
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Usually, if you pick up 2 weapons, you can have 1 in a backpack, and 1 on your holster as such. When you have a knife also, especially in combat, if you would for instance to change to the knife from an SG5-K and that was in your backpack, if there is anything else that is blocking that space you cannot do anything with your hands (change weapons, put weapons away, swap, etc.) you literally have to drop the weapons in order to regain control which is really annoying in a middle of a firefight as you cannot do anything and pretty much disables you from playing the game if you have no time and especially zombies running after you!!! I class this as Major as really how are you supposed to survive if you cannot even use your hands/weapons effectively and it completely wastes time due to having to restart again because of bugs.

Steps To Reproduce

You can do this by:
1.) Take 2 guns (e.g. a Skorpion and a Mosin) and a backpack that is full (you will need full clothes with items so there is just enough space in the backpack for the gun, e.g. the Skorpion) You will be able to arrange the skorpion in the backpack.
2.) Take out the skorpion and holster your mosin, then you will see the Skorpion disappears from the backpack (correct).
3.) If you then say for instance need to pull out your knife, but lets say you have something in the space where the Skorpion would usually sit whether it is Rags, Canned food etc. You won't be able to change to that knife because you can't put your skorpion away because there is 'not enough space' I am guessing even though in reality there is? You can sometimes change from your Mosin then back and forth but it's very buggy and 9/10 you won't get the gun/knife you want to use.

You are then stuck pretty much, especially in the middle of a firefight, you will literally have to drop the weapon in order to gain any recontrol of your hands etc. I also don't believe you can swap it out either.

Additional Information

I'm not sure if this is by design if I am honest as it seems the functionality is supposed to be this way, but the only argument I have is if there is space in the bag why can't I put it in if an item is 'in the wrong place'? If it was real life, you'd shove that item else where if you needed to do it quickly! I'd expect the inventory system to just be able to re-arrange my bag when I have the space, and then when I don't, it would be good to get a notification! It's just very irritating, because if I need to shoot, and there are zombies around and I say for instance kill someone then these Zombies swarm me and I want to pull a knife after I run out of ammo, I can't? So then I end up getting swarmed by all these zombies (and anyone else) because the functionality just kills me pretty much. It's pretty poor.

Apologies if this is not the right category either, but I hope that this can be picked up and resolved, it would make the game so much more enjoyable even with the bugs, if the inventory/actionbar etc would work in sync so I wouldn't have to tab in a middle of a fight and have to drop my gun... Swap to my knife... Then tab out to everyone killing me :(.

In other words. A situation when in clothes and a backpack there are no free slots. Circulation of objects through hands, the hot keys happens well if objects have identical volume. If to try to take a subject of small volume in hand, and now through the hot key to take a subject of large volume in hand, the small subject will occupy a part of the place from a big subject. The empty seat in a backpack or clothes loses rational distribution that leads to locking of a turn objects through the hot keys.
