1.0.150627 - CAR goes from NORMAL to BOUNCING state while DRIVING + solved in the end [streamable VIDEO]
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

PLAYED ON SERVER: TheRunningManZ community server 1PP - hosted by Spaggie - IP: 185.16.86.55:2402

PLAYERS CONNECTED TO SERVER: ~20-30

The video shows the car going from normal driving into the bouncing state very similar to what was reported in T137113.

It also shows the steps taken in attempt to fix the cars state which, in the end, were successful so that the car could be used normally again. I report this in the hopes that you can draw some conclusions as to what might cause this problem and perhaps also ultimately which of my actions fixed the issue.

@Geez I put alot of effort into making this video usable to you and providing as much information as possible, so you can figure out what causes this. Any info? Thanks.

Hello freerider3434.
Currently we are still investigating what causes the issues with the vehicles that manifest like this.
Regards,
Geez

@Geez Thank you for the update!

I noticed that this happens because of high sudden ping problems or loss of network packets from player and i watched this in server control panel. This happens when a person with a bad ping is sitting in the car, even if he is not a driver.

@fatspoke Ah very interesting, thanks for the input. I suppose if you could figure it out even with limited means, they should know about this, right?

you need to ping to server on which you play when your car starts jumping to test this hypothesis.

I suppose on the internal tests of developers this problem does not manifest itself because they are all in the same local network where there are no ping problems. therefore, they probably need to somehow emulate badly connect and watch what happens to the transport in the game.

Perhaps this problem does not need to be corrected at all, I remember in Arma2 there was a bad connection icon, so why not return it to dayz, this will eliminate a lot of problems that players report, since they will know that the reason is a poor connection and look for a problem on its side or choose servers with lower ping.

This bug reappeared 2-3 days ago, after an update. Now the cars jump, on the spot or forward / backward, after which they launch upwards at about 50 m, like a rocket causing the death of the player.

@fastpoke, I play on my local server, in Lan, so is not a problem of a bad ping.
