Headtorch light source is ~1m above person's head
Closed, ResolvedPublic

The light source of the headtorch is ~1m above the person's head. This is slightly annoying for two reasons:

  1. It looks a bit silly
  2. When entering buildings with lower ceilings the light will sometimes be in the room above you. This has the result of leaving you in a dark room still, yet lighting up the room above.

Operating System
Windows 10 x64
Operating System Version
Steps To Reproduce
  1. Turn on headtorch (with battery)
  2. Place on head
  3. Enjoy a halo of light emitting from your soul approximately 1m above your body.
Additional Information

Most easily seen from a 3rd party's view point, but the effects are obvious from the player.

Best workaround for the buildings is to place the headtorch into your hands and then raise your fists.

I also experience this when I use the head torch. It isn't just silly. The light doesn't work in buildings with low ceilings because the light floats above it. Also the light being so high above your head is like a massive beacon for any bandits in the area. I think this issue is actually bad enough to be a detriment to players experience of night time in DayZ, which is bad considering players are experiencing the new night for the first time right now.

The same thing happens to me.

And adding, looking down the light does not lighten the floor, it stays lightening only forward.

Just checked tonight and this is still a problem.

This seems to be fixed in 1.0 release :)

Yes, this can be closed, as I have opened a new ticket for the remaining problem of the light emitting source being ~1m in front of the player ->
