AI-commanding bug: Looping the Get Out / Get In commands
New, NormalPublic

Description

BIS, please fix the infinite loops, for AI commanders of vehicles, who have subordinates infantry.
In the danger mode, they begin an endless cycle and order their subordinates - Get In /Get Out / Get In /Get Out / Get In /Get Out.
Thus, instead of fighting, the subordinate infantry is engaged in useless actions, namely, entering and exiting vehicles.
This has no meaning and makes it impossible to adequate attack or defend for ai units

video example here
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnYFONCm6Bo&feature=youtu.be

in this case, the player (number "8" in radio chat) is subordinate of AI commander and the game automatically throws player out of the vehicle with every Get Out order.
As soon as the player is out of the vehicle, the commander orders him "Get In" again! etc

This still happens as of May 2021. Clearly a problem of the Ai's FSM routines that don't delay the orders enough. Units who where just given the order to dismount should wait until their state is no longer COMBAT for being given the mount order again.

Arma 3's Ai hasn't been improved for ages. Acording to some moders on the forums Arma 3's FSM is even identical to Arma 2 so there is little chance for it to be updated and fixed.

Most likely you will need to wait for Arma 4 in order to get trully new Ai.

For Arma 4 the Arma 3's Ai would need to be completely rewritten from scratch and be made multicore.

Clearly a problem of the Ai's FSM routines that don't delay the orders enough

I agree with @LSValmont.
BIS at least give an elementary delay between Get Out and Get In. Such a simple feature would smooth the problem.
Please don't bury the AI of Arma3!
