OBS Studio not supported
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

That's a problem every new version arrives.
Is there a possibilty to support OBS as a standard for the near future?

Even if it's a security reason and has to be send to the anti-cheat developers team: Please redirect this.
Even other multiplayer games are possible to archive this. Yes I do not know the technical barriers blocking this, normaly there is always a possibilty to find a way, speaking here as a amateur programmer.

And hopefully peaking for the whole streamer community, out there, loving your game and games.

Thank you.

Hello psychokill and thank you for the report.
According to various threads on the internet the issue with black screen while using game capture in OBS is an issue that various users are having with various games. Have you tried any of the supposed fixes such as https://www.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/2txtvy/simple_obs_fullscreen_black_screen_fix/ or https://obsproject.com/faq ?
Regards,
Geez

Hello Geez and thank you for your reply.
I tried both supposed "fixes" without a working result. The screen-capturing so far is no future-proof solution cause it needs recently more power.

It appears that, if a new OBS version is commited, the problem occurs. My request is to handle this situation. The problem also only appears for me to DayZ.

Greetings,
psychokill

Gonna jump in and comment that with the release of 0.60, I was getting a black screen in OBS Studio when using Game Capture (Windowed mode worked, though).

To work around this issue with Game Capture until either the DayZ and/or OBS devs resolve the problem, I had to disable antialiasing in the DayZ graphics settings and restart the capture. It's worked fine, since.

Hello psychokill.
We have confirmed the issue internally and will look into it, meanwhile we suggest you try using the Window Capture feature as that one has worked for us.

Geez

Thank you for your support.

@Geez
the window capture feature requires more usage of cpu/gpu (depends on which decoder), so I preffer using game-capture.

  • Is there a chance that it will be implemented into version 0.61? Would be very happy :-)

@sanguine00
disabling anti-aliasing works really good. Dayz now looks a bit pixaleted ^^, but it works so far. Thank you!

Any updates on this issue? It has been going on since .60 and still persists in .62.

In your DayZ configuration settings, go to Video and disable Anti-Aliasing.

Looks like nope in this patch :(.

The above mentiined wayaround is the only way sadly, which leaves you recording shitty textures, but is the only option people without shadowplay have atm.

Try this:

do your grafik to very high.. antialaising and so on..
switch in the dayz -> configuration -> Window Mode .. and for borderless window mode hit ctrl+alt+enter, after switching to Windows Mode..
then u can capture your monitor, where dayz runs (without disable antialaising) it is the same workaround techniqe how in 0.60 & 0.61

o/ peace

Hello everyone.
Are you still experiencing this issue in the 1.0 version?
Regards,
Geez

@Geez

Yes. If I want to record DayZ via game-capturing in OBS it's not allowed to change some DayZ graphic settings like antialiasing in every form. It's very annoying and frustrating not getting the good quality out of the game it could have. Please change as soon as possible. This bug lives on like forever! Didn't even know that it didn't exist since 0.5 or something...

greetings!

Hello psychokill.
Can you please describe the issue you are experiencing in more detail? Does the OBS software not work when using specific video settings in the game? How does this manifest in the OBS software?

Geez

Hello everyone.
There should not be any issues with the OBS software at this point. In case new issues have appeared, please create a new ticket describing the issue in detail.
