Arma 3 Crashes on start-up - 0xC000007B - STATUS_INVALID_IMAGE_FORMAT
Reviewed, NormalPublic

Description

I've recently reinstalled Windows to upgrade to 64Bit version of Windows 7 to use all of my Ram, but since then I'm unable to start Arma 3.

I've also reinstalled Arma 3 with all the drivers provided by Steam and additionally all vcredist versions from 2005-2015, .NET Framework and directX.

To fix the problem I tried reinstalling the game & drivers, run sfc /scannow to check for any missing system files and run a Steam-check for any corrupt game files.

I have no idea how to fix the problem because all advice on the internet say to reinstall windows which I think wouldn't help or to install drivers which I should all have.

I would be happy if someone could help me fix my problem.
Sincerely,
Markus Hoffmann

Thank you for your help!

I've followed the steps and Dependency Walker found missing files.
I added a screenshot with the red files.

Is it a special program which I need to install/repair to get those dlls ?
I've googled those files and I only came to the conclusion that these api sets are not available for Windows 7 or lower, which doesn't make much sense.
Dependency Walker detects these files because the tool is a bit out-dated (last update 3 years before my operating system release).
For example the file "IESHIMS.DLL" belongs to Internet Explorer and I don't think Arma 3 uses files which are part of IE.

I can.. But I don't really see the needed info.
Is you game crashing? Do you have crashdumps? https://feedback.bistudio.com/w/ft_a3_howto/gamecrash/

I fixed it by process of manual elimination and found it was a bad X3DAudio1_7.dll

for the WOWsys64 folder
