Cannot move after respawn if player dies while placing a marker in map.

Description

A player is in the map view and is in the process of placing a marker and dies, when respawned the player is unable to move, unable to press ESC for menu, unable to do anything but Ctrl+Alt+Delete and kill the process.

Enter map, start to place a marker, get killed, respawn/revive.

Additional Information

More frequently seen when playing Invade and Annex game mode. Might be some conflicting mod/function/script.
Seen with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
nVidia GTX 660ti, GTX 970, GTX970 SLI. Multiple variations of PC hardware and drivers.

It's not a mod, addon, function or script. It's an issue that at least exists in MP since Arma 1.

It seems that the textbox routine (even if the textbox of the marker is not visible anymore) still eats all (keyboard) interaction and does not end when a player dies.

Hello,

could you please fill in some simple repro steps, if possible for a vanilla mission, that would help me to reproduce this issue?
Also did you try if this issue is still valid in the latest RC?

Just start a mission with (base) respawn on a dedicated server.

Then take a grenade and throw it below your feets.

Open the map, create a marker, do not enter text, leave the marker text box open and wait till the grenade kills you.

Now after respawn you can't do anything anymore but kill the A3 process.

So, is there anything going on to fix this? This is getting more and more annoying and it's still there in 1.64.

Such effect is in other situation in a game on the server. You look via the unit camera for the player. If the player leaves from the server, you won't be able to close the unit camera, or any other actions.

@Lex looking through unit camera?
Spectator? Or some scripted solution (in such case, do you have a repro available)?
