Seems to be reasonable to convert ticket to feature request for option to lbSetCurSel not to trigger corresponding EH (true or false resulting in EH code block makes no difference).

Have you looked at BIS_fnc_Arsenal? it does provide save/load inventory and gives some respawn options via Zeus.

I am currently working on a scripted version for such customizable vest. Investigated the possibilities of engine and besides of adding custom layout to every vest, it is also possible to introduce the modular vest system in arma 3 (like molle or alice).
