wouldn't this potentially be exploitable in multiplayer, as your weapon flash would be much harder or impossible to see if you fire from inside a structure or while lying on top of something?

I personally think you should be able to maintain jogging pace when switching to a pistol sidearm, but switching to a primary weapon or launcher or similar should slow you to walking pace.
