I am having the exact same problem.

I have this same problem. When I do respawn I am dead.

This occurred with me and now, when I join a server I am unconscious. I respawn and I get the message, "You are dead." I have tried exiting the game and restarting several times and once deleted the game from my computer and re-installed it - all to no avail. The game is now useless to me. I cannot play it.

I am having the same problem, I am no longer able to play the game. I died and had this problem and when I try to restart I jin the serve but immediately get the message, "You are unconscious." At that point, I respawn and when that process finishes I get the message, "You are dead." I have tried exiting the game completely and coming in fresh - no luck. I deleted the game, reloaded it - still the same. The game is completely unworkable now. Best $30 I ever spent, lol.
