I'm sorry, I can't figure out how to remove my original post but the issue has disappeared. I'm able to equip the visor and the pants and switch between the helmet and the ghillie hood with no problem now. May have been a server issue. It still didn't work straight after the server was reset but after restarting the game once, post reset, it seems to be working fine.
