Game crashes to desktop every time I play

Description

Basically, every time I play the game it crashes to desktop. Can play for 10 seconds to 20 minutes, but the game crashes every time, without fail. Doesn't matter where I am, what I am doing or what I am carrying...the game just crashes. Even if I exit a server (game play is fine) and try to join another server, the game will crash, either . I have tried removing carry cases (protector cases, ammo boxes, med-kits), removing all items, running from the area in case it is a glitch, re installed the game, changing from Normal to Hard-core,

Pack the files into a .rar file - if the RAR is smaller than 5000KB, you can attach it here. If it's larger, please upload it to a file sharing website and link it here.

Hello, Mad Scientist. I'm not a moderator and I have little knowledge in dissecting crash dmps. I see that you have tried to remedy the problem yourself. You might want to change the name of your character from Admin to another name. This is not the cause of the crashing, but it will sometimes get you booted from servers. Before trying any of the stuff below go to DayZ in your Steam menu, right-click Properties, click Local Files tab, and click "Verify Integrity of Game Cache..."

Locate DayZ.exe "Run as administrator". I say this because the line

Exception code: C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at 00000000

If you can, get back with me if you are able to play longer or if you still see no changes.

Edit: Also can you upload a recent crash dmp file

Edit 2: Is your video driver updated?

Hi Mad Scientist,

You'll need to wait until a developer comes along and acknowledges this issue.

In the meantime, have you tried the most recent experimental build? The issue might have been fixed.

Updating your graphics drivers would also be worth a go as your dxdiag shows them as being from March 2013

I had the same. Problem was solved by installing x64 version of Windows (in my case it was Windows 7)

Hi metisou and derzai,

Though the video driver might be an issue so I updated it 2 nights ago....no go. Still crashes anywhere from 2 secs to 15min.

Checked Game Cache as metisou suggested...everything fine.

Will jump in-game now and:
a. change my name (opps)
b. will upload a crash dmp file (give me anywhere from 2sec to 15 min and I will have it....
c. jump on an experimental server...once I figure out how to change it....

Unfortunately derzai, dont have access to 64 bit windows as yet....

Update
OK, tried running the game as administrator....no luck, still crashes.

Jumped into experimental...didn't crash, but the game kept lagging out every couple of seconds. Going back to standalone, will see how it goes.

Latest crash dump and DxDiag files uploaded.

Basically now, the game just lags every couple of seconds...hasn't crashed as yet, but I could only handle 10-20 secs of that before I raged....Only started lagging after I changed to Experimental, however after I changed back to Standalone it still lags out.

Not sure what is going on now...

Well, played for about 10 minutes with the lag hoping it might come good...but the game crashed again...

The lagging is a new issue that has cropped up for me and others. The underlying issue still stands regarding the game crashing. Do you want me to report a new issue on the lagging and keep this one open for the game crash?

New ticket for lagging issue opened (Issue #0014205), linked to #0014031, however there is no movement on this from Developers....

The crashing issue is still occurring for me and others though. Any updates...

Can you please close this Issue, I have sorted the problem.
