Description

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this. I just bought DayZ for my girlfriend and I, I have no connection issues at all so far. However, when she connects on her computer she can only stay in a server for about 3 minuets with me before getting a broken red chain, and a timeout. I stay in the game, and she can reconnect easily, she just doesn't stay (no response from server in (s)). We are on the same internet but different she's connected to the router and I'm connected to the main modem. Any ideas on what i could do here? It's a fun game but unplayable for one of us. I've tried switching from the router and modem, and even have tried having both connected to each to no avail. I'm also pretty sure everything is updated on her PC as far as I can tell. Sometimes shell be in a server when I'm not playing but when as soon as I start up DayZ she gets the boot. Im assuming I'm getting some sort of network preference? Im not sure, I'd just really love to play this so any ideas will be much appreciated.

Hi,

this is a problem caused by specific routers. Please try setting up the following launch parameter on ONE of your accounts.

  1. Right click DayZ in the Steam library
  2. Click "Properties"
  3. Click "Set Launch Options"
  4. Enter "-port+1" (without the quotes) into the field
  5. Click OK
  6. Try playing on the same server again

In case this does not work, I'm afraid that the only way to fix the problem would be to upgrade your router.

Okay thanks a lot for a response I'm going to go get a new router. Thanks a lot.
