Sometimes, after playing for a certain amount of time while having VSync on using this particular graphics card, the game visually freezes for a few seconds and then throws me back to the Desktop, with the game still running in the background. However, the game is still running, but cannot be seen. Nothing occurs when you click on the icon on the taskbar, so the only option is to reboot the game.

Basically, booting up the game while using a NVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti while having VSync active will cause a visual crash after about 20-30 minutes of playing, sometimes longer.
A friend of mine also has the exact same problem with the same graphics card, so it isn't an issue due to do with my own hardware.
Event Timeline
Disable VSync.
VSync only gives you something positive, if you have a CRT-Screen and not a TFT-Screen AND more than 60 FPS.
If you have a TFT and more or less than 60 FPS, disable VSync, this gives you nothing. Especially not with a TFT.
Hello,
Please let us know in the note section if you are still able to reproduce this issue on the latest Experimental build.
If so, please send us a dxdiag report and files from this folder: "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\DayZ\". Ideally, please pack all of them into a *.rar or a *.zip archive.
If the archive is smaller than 5.000KB, you can attach it here.
In case it's larger than that, please try uploading it to a file sharing website and link it here.
For future reports please refer to the "How to guide" http://feedback.dayzgame.com/how-to-user.html
Thank you.
Just tested there, the crashing thankfully doesn't happen in the experimental version, so it's all A-ok.
Hi,
that means it has been fixed, but has not yet hit stable branch yet. Just stick to the experimental branch for time being.
Thanks!
