This is just due to using a knife that is ruined, use a pristine knife for steaks of positive percentage

To OP damaged items will lower the % of meat..

Just had this happen to me. I caught a carp, prepared it with a pristine kitchen knife and it gave me back a -5 and -10 fish fillets.

Ok with near 0 %, but a -4% piece of meat? You simply can't have less than 0% of materia
