Players need a sound when connecting to a server. Preventing Server Hopping
New, WishlistPublic

Description

Because of the latest patch, now players can easyly server hopping anywhere without being heard.

If before the last update we were be able to hear player connecting through reloading weapons, now is not possible anymore and you can fine anytime someone behind you ready to shoot. Or spawn on a floor of the building that is more secure than the main entrance.

It is needed a sound that can be heard within 30 metres. So that if people are camping in a building, they understand that someone is connecting nearby them. So that in good faith or not, the one is connecting on that building will pay much attention next time on where to disconnect.

When connecting to a server, my character hurts himself everytime.

I do not get it why they had removed the reload sound. Makes no sense. Invites hopping in jail/camo buildings etc. So sad.

I agree! Alternatively, a feature that keeps the player at the wait screen and prevents logging in when active players are within 'X' meters of their spawn in location.

Even with the server hop timeout, the lack of log-in noise encourages ghosting around the map to spawn in behind other players.

A vast majority of my dayz deaths are due to hackers and server hoppers ghosting in from behind. In my 300+ hours of playing I have only been legitimately killed by a player probably 4 times.

Previously if you unload all your weapons before signing off, you didn't make a sound when re-joining.

I don't think making sound for spawn can prevent server hopping even for a bit. Because server hopping started and continued when the game had a sound of spawning, right? Adding the sound seems quite natural, i don't mind - as in real life sounds let us to find out a human before we see him, in the game it can prevent us from absolutely sudden encounter. But does it have such a big sense in a game which is generally about danger and makes you to run continuously and turn around every second checking your back? The suggestion isn't about preventing of hopping absolutely... Preventing from sudden danger - i have a doubt... meeting of silently moving players near your location is much more often and dangerous than a spawn, but it won't make us to ask about increasing the sounds of steps for let us to hear all players in 30 meters... or... will it? :)

The sound upon login was a bug and they removed it. It wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. So basically if it wasn't there in the first place this wouldn't be an issue.
If I logout in a safe spot and cannot be seen when I login, do I really want to be heard by a random passer by?
That's just a silly concept and leaves me a sitting duck while I load in. So taking the time to logout in a safe spot where you can't be seen you now want us to worry about being heard. Being seen is something we can do something about but being heard would be beyond our control.
Listen for footsteps if you're wanting to know if people are a around rather than a gamey concept of having a sound alerting you when someone logs on.
No sounds upon login thanks!
