If you empty a box of 7.62mm rounds or inspecting a chambered 7.62mm round the picture shows a rimmed cartridge and the bullet is a bit bigger and longer than a 7.62x51mm NATO, because the bullet diameter of the 7.62x54mmR(R= rimmed) is 7.92mm(.312 in). But the description says it is a 7.62x51mm round. It should be changed to 7.62x54mmR because the a mosin doesn't shoot 7.62x51mm rounds. Also if u have stacked ammo and inspect it, it only says "7.62 rounds". Should be also changed, because the picture shows 7.62x54mmR rounds.

- Click on "inspect" on a chambered round in the mosin
- Picture shows 7.62x54mmR rounds, but the description says "7.62x51" rounds
Same for the 7.62mm box
- Click on "inspect"
- Description says "7.62x51mm", but if you empty the box you will see the picture of 7.62x54mmR rounds
For stacked 7.62mm ammo
- Click on "inspect"
- Picture shows 7.62x54mmR rounds, but description only says "7.62mm" rounds
A mosin 91/30 can't shoot 7.62x51mm NATO rounds without being damaged, because the bullet is a bit smaller and the cartridge case is a bit shorter than the 7.62x54mmR. If you want to shoot a 7.62x51mm round with the mosin u need to change the barrel, the bolt and also the internal magazine. As fare as i know thats nearly impossible to do and if the game is going to strive to realism the description should be changed.
Event Timeline
I was being patient for the release of the SVD Dragunov - which shoots the 7.62x54r as well - Hoping the Devs would correct it then.
BTW - hell of alot of 7.62x51mm in Chernaraus!
And any chance of some 9mm, .45 acp and 7.63x39mm (A lot more prevalent round in Eastern Europe - especially with the CZ carbine recently introduced to game) actually 'appearing' in the 0.50.125144 build? I've found more 1911's and CZ 75 pistols than the actual bullets for them - ?!
It wouldn't hurt for them to keep both rounds and adjust the physics for both. The 7.62X51 is the standard NATO round A.K.A the .308. If they plan on adding any weapons in the future that use that round it would be a good idea for them to look at data posted online regarding muzzle velocity and bullet drop out of each weapon.
Hi everyone,
thank you for your feedback, however - this is intended in order to lower the number of ammo types in the game.
Thanks for understanding,
Andy
