M4A1 Handguard cannot be swapped with another of better quality
New, WishlistPublic

Description

The handguard of the M4A1 does not seem to be swappable with another of better quality.
Mine was worn/damaged and while I found another which was pristine, I could trade all parts (rail, stock) except the handguard.
This leaves me with a pristine rifle, but with an almost broken handguard.
(Not sure if that has any impact at this point, but it would be nice to have a completely pristine weapon, doesn't it?)

Additional Information

I have read that people were able to swap it with a different kind of handguard that can fit attachments, so it would only apply to the default handguard.

Workaround for now for this is that you need to find another m4 with a better handguard and then change your attachments to that new m4 and take it with you. Then you got the better quality handguard with the rest of attachments. Pain in the ass for sure but at least that works for now.

Yeah, too bad that in my case the only part that was better was the handguard ;)

Good to get this fixed, but I didn't think quality actually mattered on anything but the sights right now?

Reproducible situations:

  1. If you find just the handguard on the ground, you should be able to swap it out without any problems.
  2. Unable to remove a handguard attached to an m4 already on the ground or on your character.

The problem this creates is that you have to find a pristine m4 with the pristine handguard you want, or try finding just the pristine handguard you want, in order to come up with a pristine gun.

This is further compounded by the fact that using a cleaning kit on your gun after firing it causes the core weapon to be set to the condition "Worn", which is already a reported bug.

If the condition of the core weapon plays no role in determining it's accuracy, then it's no big deal...but based on personal experience and several reviews from other players, accuracy is already affected reasonably by condition of the core weapon and it's attachments.

Please look into this as soon as possible Devs, thanks for all of your work!
