For quite sometime now, excessive logging server side especially has been a problem and unnecessary in a live stable environment. Particularly associated to skeleton spam or LOD spam.
This can be tens of thousands of needless entries in the rpt, sometimes hundreds of thousands maybe more...
The current offering of "-nologs" is widely unnecessary, after-all this wouldn't be needed if there wasn't endless spam. To the point all skeleton/lod/vortex entries are simply not needed in a live environment. They should be disabled, especially server side. -nologs is too aggressive, as this also disables mission logging for example teamkill logs in the rpt.
The simpler option would be from a development or testing point of view. The aforementioned remains disabled unless a parameter like "-devlogs" or "-enabledebug" is added to the startup parameters.
Then... if a server or client is crashing, they simply need to add the parameter to re-enable 'complete' logging if you will which will help with things like minidumps.
One could argue "what about mission/mod spam", my response to that would be this isn't your responsibility (as the game developer) and is in the mission or addon creators remit to resolve.
