RMB zoom is too big in 1.48
Acknowledged, WishlistPublic

Description

Zoom with right mouse button in 1.48 version is much bigger than it was. The difference is so big that transition doesn't feel natural and seems to be like you have binoculars mounted in your eyes ;)
Zooming at close to medium distances really reduces field of view. At those distances I often find myself in situations where un-zoomed view is insufficient but zooming-in puts your target on your whole screen and reduces situational awareness of anything else. Looking around/sweeping terrain at those distances is hard too.
On the other hand it's not as fun as before to have medium-range engagements with iron sights/optics without magnification like aco, because you can just zoom-in and see everything so clearly (too easy).

I know you wanted to achieve consistency between naked eye fov and optics with their descriptions but in my opinion this is not the right way. You could leave RMB zoom like it was and raise optics magnification just a little-bit where it's needed.

Similar thing happened to rangefinder and its minimum zoom capped at x5 which makes it unusable at close to medium distances at all (same as laser designators except of CSAT one).

So this is my feedback about these changes. I doubt you will change it back, but I hope you at least review it or maybe enable option in settings (or .cfg files) to limit how much RMB zooms please. I'd also like to know if any other players think same.

+1 agree with you, autor

I'm not sure what decisions are made when they configured it, but i made a simple sheet earlier to demonstrate how many pixel should be the human at 50m(ingame) on 15.6 inch display with 1920x1080 resolution. It should be 64px if we want to see in the same size as the real human at 50m.

In normal view it's 36px, which is 56% compared to the human eye.
In zoomed view it's 110px, which is 170% better than the human eye.

Here is the sheet:
