Game crashes when trying to run any mission but bootcamp and bootcamp is without surfaces
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I have today installed ARMA 3 Extended version.

  1. When attempting to run bootcamp, only the mesh is drawn and there are no surfaces anywhere.
  2. When attempting to run another mission, the game crashes while loading.

I have Win7 with 2GB, 16GB free HD, nVidia GeForce GTX960, 4GB

I updated nVidia driver, and also set the optimal settings using the GeForce Experience tool. There was not any effect.

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder to analyze your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package, please?
Archive smaller than 5000 KB can be attached directly to the ticket. For bigger archives, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

Thank you.

Update: I was able to start a Stratis mission.
The game hangs when in bootcamp the Altis gets loaded.
The game also doesn't show surfaces in bootcamp missions.

Update:

  • I changed the virtual memory page to 4095 (it was 2024, with the system recommending 3079) to both hard disk drives available to my system.
  • I checked the checkboxes and set in the Launcher's parameters (tab Advanced) the following values:

MaxMem: 12545
MaxVRam: 3851
(presuming I have a 4GB Graphics card, and 2GB + 8GB virtual from hard disk)
The graphics details was set to High.
I was able to proceed in the learning process without any lag or screen problems until I needed to open the map. When I closed the map, the program crashed.

Could you please try setting your graphic cards to medium and turning off any sort of AntiAliasing and PostProcessing? Thanks.
