Game crashes all the time...directx and display driver issues
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

It seems to happen when I am moving my head around. I have it binded to the ALT key so when I hold it down I can move my head. When the game does crash and give me this error I am always looking around with my head.

When I get the crash I cannot restart the game without restarting the entire computer. This is VERY annoying.

Attached pic below. I can provide DXDIAG or error log files if needed? {F25515} {F25516} {F25517}

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder to analyze your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package, please?
Archive smaller than 5000 KB can be attached directly to the ticket. For bigger archives, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

Thank you.

Hi Iceman,

I uploaded all the latest crash logs. It happened yesterday like 3-5 times and those logs correspond with the times it happened. I also included my dxdiag so you can see what my specs are.

For now, while BI is trying to fix it, try to use command line -winxp . It will force game to use DX9

love it when you buy a game and cant play it because it crashes every-time you open it. DirectX errors and display driver fails only for that specific game. And then you have the devs tell you its something client-side instead of something wrong with the game. The best part is knowing the bullshit they are spewing because you are in IT and not some illiterate idiot they can bypass with useless troubleshooting.

pops this has been an issue, not just with me, for awhile. There is no excuse for why this hasnt been fixed yet.

Did yout tried to use -winxp commandline??????? I am trying to help you so dont say about ignorantion issues, otherwise dont report anything! This is not cry wall, and no place for complaining!

Yes vlad, -winxp caused the game to crash every-time. Isolated the game to only start with that parameter as well. Still crashed. When I removed that parameter it started fine and went back to the random DX11 crash. -nobenchmark -nofilepatching -nologs ...among many many other parameters I have tried. None work.

I appreciate the help. However, the frustration comes from the fact I work in the IT professional world. I don't take shortcuts and I accept when I screw up. I figure out how to solve issues before I waste a clients time.
