Movement orders as Vehicle Commander
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The problem connects the CONTROLS HOTKEYS and ISSUING MOVEMENT ORDERS as a vehicle commander.

ISSUE: the player as a vehicle commander is not able to issue movement orders to the driver.

1- If the player uses one of the DEFAULT CONFIGURATION, no issue occurs.

2- if the player changes the controls of the 4 directions of vehicle movement (forward/back/left/right, by default WASD) to something else (like TFGH or IKJL or ESDF ecc.) the issue occur:

The player as a vehicle commander won't be able to issue movement orders to the driver.

However the player will still be able to issue movement orders with the old hotkeys WASD (even if they are not there anymore, because they have been changed)

3 - if the player chooses the EMPTY PRESET (to start from scratch) no matter what hotkeys he chooses for the vehicle/infantry movement. He won't be able to issue movement orders to the driver, even if he chooses the old default keys (WASD)

Steps To Reproduce

1 - Be in a vehicle as a Commander
2 - Go to Controls menu
3 - Go to Vehicle Movement
4 - Change the four movement direction as you like (example: IKJL)
5 - Go back in the game as a vehicle commander and issue movement orders to the driver.

You will be able to use movement orders only with WASD keys, even if you have changed them to IKJL

1 - Be in a vehicle as a Commander
2 - Go to Controls menu
3 - Go to Presets, select Empty, click Ok
4 - Change hotkeys for vehicle movements

Now, no matter what you use as hotkeys really. it won't work. Even if you choose the default hotkeys (WASD) they won't work anymore for issuing movement orders to the driver of the vehicle.

Additional Information

In the Field Manual/vehicle Controls/ Commanding the hotkeys used for issuing movement orders to the driver are the one used for infantry movement instead of the vehicle movement.
Therefore I have tried to match both vehicle and infantry movement orders to avoid conflicts.
The issue remains.

EDIT:

Silly me, I just figured it out.

Some commands hotkeys are just not listed in the menu, but they are in the user ARMA 3 folder, so i changed the bindings manually there and it is all good. Sorry for wasting your time.
