Arma 3 Crashes on Server Join
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Every time I try to join a multiplayer server, Arma3 freezes and I am forced to Control+Alt+Delete in order to return to my desktop. Once I start that task manager I see the message "Arma3.exe has stopped working." I am getting this crash every time I attempt to join a server. I have tried verifying game cache files on steam, I have verified that I am not running with any launch flags or addons enabled.

I AM able to launch Showcase, single player, and Editor missions. {F24825} {F24826}

Experiencing same problem. Have also uploaded my .RPT files (Arma 3 Crash Log).

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder for solve your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package please?
When package will be smaller than 5000k, you can attach it here. When package is bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

Thank you.

Hello,

bidmp and mdmp files were not being created no matter how long I waited.

However I took a look at Windows Event Viewer which told me that Battleye seemed to be at fault:
(Faulting module path: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Local\Arma 3\BattlEye\BEClient.dll)

Downloading the client .dll from battleye website and replacing the one I had, seemed to fix the issue. Perhaps the one I had was corrupt possibly. Anyway Thanks for the help.

deathdragon1987, can you provide a little more information on your fix? I tried downloading the client and server .dlls from http://www.battleye.com/download.html and placing them in my Arma3/Battleeye folder. But Arma 3 is still crashing when I attempt to join servers. Did you do anything different from the above steps?

Iceman... It seems you've closed this issue, but I don't think it should be closed until the original reporter (myself) indicates that the issues has been corrected.

Scratch that... I went ahead and placed the DLL in the AppData/Local/Arma 3/BattlEye folder and that seemed to resolve the issue.

Thank you very much Deathdragon! Love it when the internet comes through. Relevant xkcd: http://xkcd.com/979/

Iceman, I now feel as though this issues has been resolved. Thanks!

Haha, no worries Pmosis. I hate it when people say "Don't worry, fixed the issue", without actually posting how they solved it.

Mass-closing all resolved issues not updated in the last month.
