Arma 3 Crashes very soon after starting
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Despite trying seemingly all of the fixes available online, Arma 3 crashes every time it is launched.

Things I have tried:

  • Updated DirectX
  • Disabled audio/recording devices
  • Updated graphics driver
  • Updated PhysX driver
  • Tried forcing VSync on and off
  • Tried -nobenchmark parameter
  • Changed malloc to system
  • Tried deleting and regenerating Arma 3 folders in Documents
  • Tried deleting and regenerating Arma 3 folders in Appdata
  • Tried re-installing Arma 3
  • Tried validating steam cache
  • Tried -maxVRAM=900 parameter
  • Tried underclocking graphics card
  • Tried starting from arma3.exe

Depending on what was tried, Arma 3 would crash directly to the desktop, crash with the windows "program has stopped working" dialog, or crash with the Arma 3 "D3D Error - DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED" error.

In the attached zip file, I have included the Arma3.cfg, arma3_2014-08-30_22-16-21.bidmp, arma3_2014-08-30_22-16-21.rpt, and DxDiag.txt files. {F24699}

Hello,
could you please upload more crashdump files? From the one you sent it looks like a RAM problem. It could be either caused by Arma, but it could also mean that your RAM is corrupted or some software is preventing memory allocations to work correctly.

@Iceman: Specifically which crash files are needed? Just more .bidmp and .rpt files?

Yes please, as many as you can. Please use some file sharing website in case the archive is bigger than 5000kB. Thank you.
